I’ve been involved in Rotary for just about 30 years. First through RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership) then Rotaract and finally I joined Rotary when I was 28.

We are 1.2 million neighbours, friends and leaders, global problem-solvers

There’s lots of ways to meet people: work, school, networking, online, conferences, workshops, events, sports, travel.

I have met a lot of people in various ways over the last 30 years, but Rotary is the best way to meet the right people, aligned people.

Why? Where else can you meet someone of a different race, religion or political affiliation that you align with?

We align because we are grounded in the desire to unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

We are grounded in the humble responsibility of being problem solvers to do good and be good. Our shared values and ethics build bridges to understanding and empathy.

I’m grateful to be granted the responsibility to help lead District 5060

I want to live a life of joy, passion, and usefulness and Rotary provides this!

When I look back at my Rotary career, Rotary has changed the trajectory of my life, more than once. The self-development opportunities help us be better versions of ourselves in developing both hard and soft skills no matter what age or stage in life you are.

District 5060’s vision for 25/26 is succinctly captured in the phrase Feed the Future: Food sustainability. Many if not all, of our clubs are already doing several projects within this category. Think no waste grocery stores and restaurants, efficient food drives, abundant food banks, community gardens, healthy eating, school meal programs.

Rotary’s Action plan is Impact, Reach, Engage and Adapt

Look at the current impact our district has on food sustainability. Many if not all, of our clubs are already doing several projects within this category: Food Kitchens, Food Drives, and Gleaning, Community Gardens, and School Meal programs. The idea is to share the information, are doing, what you’re proud of and what’s working, see how we can cross pollinate ideas, improve and grow projects and service.

Connect with each other to learn best practises, reach out to our communities locally and globally to determine additional needs and projects.

I’m grateful to what Rotary has and continues to provide me. I appreciate all our members and the work you continue to do. I am excited for this next chapter in my life and the exceptional opportunity to meet everyone and lead the team for the 25/26 Rotary year. I’m dedicated to Rotary and for me, it’s pretty simple: Do Good, Be Good, Feel Good.
